June is finally here ladies! It’s summer…and it’s time for FUN. It’s time for SUN. And it’s time to name a new Mom Sexy Blogger of the Month!
I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s feature. So many of you shared some really awesome tips for how to feel sexier as a mom! I even got some great ideas for sexy that I hadn’t thought of before. And I just don’t think it would be right to keep all of these sexy secrets to myself, so I am going to go back and compile all of your awesome tricks and tips into a little “Feeling Mom Sexy” guide, and I will post it later on this week. It was so tough to pick just one winner this time around, so I think it is only fitting that I showcase all of your sexy ideas!
With that being said, I am so excited to announce that my Mom Sexy Blogger of the Month for June is…
Cara Mamma from “A Day in the Life”
Cara linked up her “Mom Sexy Recipe” this month…and what a delicious recipe it is! She talked about three specific things that make her feel more confident and sexy as a mom, and I could totally identify with all of them!
First, she talked about how running and strength training make her feel strong…and feeling strong makes her feel sexy. I am totally with her on this one for sure. I know when I’m shaking my booty at one of my Zumba classes or when I’m holding an extremely difficult pose at hot yoga for a few extra breaths, I feel empowered and strong as a woman, and that makes me feel totally hot. Exercise definitely gets the blood flowing through your body, and it makes you realize just how much your body is capable of. And that’s Mom Sexy.
Second, she talked about putting on music in her house and singing out loud and shaking her thing without one worry about being in tune or having the right moves. Letting yourself be free and letting loose are great ways to rev up your sexy. Because singing and dancing make you feel GOOD. And you really can’t have sexy without the feeling good part.
The third thing that makes Cara feel like a sexy mama is one that I am REALLY psyched about. Because I think that each and every single woman in the world can relate to this one. Because ALL of us have this sexy-inducing “thing” stashed away somewhere in our house. It makes us feel beautiful. It makes us feel womanly. And it makes us feel incredibly Mom Sexy. In case you haven’t guessed it, I’m talking about “The Dress.”

And then there is “The dress“—really it is an outfit. We all have “THE” one go to outfit that makes us feel like we could take on the world, that harnesses all of our inner sexy so much that you feel sexy on the inside and out. My outfit consists of a killer dress that I bought last year….it is in fact a very “un-me” dress (or was)…bright, low cut in the front, paired with a high high heeled pair of brown sandals. Oh and earrings..big dangly earrings. (Earrings bring on a serious “I feel good attitude!”) It does not matter if I am just lounging around the house or going out to dinner in Mexico, this is MY dress. It is my “I feel good, I look good, and I can do just about anything” dress. Just making me think about the dress makes me smile, and makes me realize: I deserve to feel sexy, I deserve to feel good–not only do I deserve it, but I actually believe it!

Doesn’t Cara look like a sexy mama ladies?? I sat there and read her post and immediately thought about this certain little black dress that hangs in my master bedroom closet collecting dust. It is the cutest damn thing and it makes me feel like the hottest bitch on the block when I wear it. But I NEVER WEAR IT. And I never wear it because I never really have an occasion to. But Cara inspired me to change that.
We were getting ready to head to a Memorial Day cookout yesterday, and I decided that I just had to put on that dress and my “do-me” heels just so I could have that “I’m Mom Sexy and I’m proud!” feeling going on before we headed over to our friends’ house. And you know what? I felt like a million bucks after putting on that dress.
(Yes, I changed into cookout appropriate attire right after that. But I seriously considered showing up to the party in my little black dress. Maybe next time).
Ok ladies…Cara’s post has inspired me to do something REALLY fun for my next Mom Sexy edition. I’m TOTALLY excited about this and I hope that all of you will be too!!
I started thinking about how all of us have these awesome dresses that sit in our closets and maybe come out once a year if we are lucky. And I really think that it is a total tragedy, that as sexy mamas, we don’t get to show them off a little more often. So I want to give all of us an occasion to get all gussied up and strut our stuff a bit.

THE MOMMYOLOGIST’S MOM SEXY PROM – MONDAY, JUNE 21st, 2010
That’s right ladies. I’m turning Mom Sexy into Prom Sexy at the end of this month. Please join me on Monday, June 21st, and link up your post with a picture of you in “Your Dress” or “Your Outfit”, whatever it may be. This is your excuse to finally put on that dress that you never wear because you just don’t have a reason to. You have an occasion now! And you know what? You’re not even required to bring a date to this prom. I plan on going stag.
The McLinky will be up from Monday, the 21st, until Friday, the 25th, and then me and my yet-to-be-selected team of expert panelists will nominate five ladies who linked up their photo to be our Mom Sexy Prom Queen. On Monday, the 28th, the five nominees for prom queen will be revealed and all of you will have the chance to vote daily for the winner. And she will be crowned on July 1st as my Mom Sexy Prom Queen Blogger for July. (And yes, I will be sending the winner her very own tiara. Every queen deserves one).
I am SO pumped about this and I really think that this is going to be the BEST PROM EVER! (And I’m pretty sure that I won’t leave in the limo alone after this one).

I love Cara’s dress and yours. I went out over the weekend and bought not 1 but 2 sun dresses and I wore one to a picnic on Sunday with cute heels. So not the typical me but I loved it!
I love the Prom! I have a long black dress I’m saving for a show later this year, but I do have a little one hiding, too. Maybe I’ll pull it out
Reading about the first reason of why Cara felt sexy made me realize that running the hills here in AR. , makes me feel the same way. I love how my legs look and feel after 26 years of running, how strong my calves are. Exercise is definitely a “mom sexy” moment!
Don’t know if I’m doing the prom thing—I think I may have gotten rid of all my fancy dresses when I decided to stay home. Does fitting into my wedding dress count?? ; )

We were heading out the door for a birthday party on Sunday, and my top was a bit cleavage heavy — I asked Brett for his opinion. “Do you think this top is too booby-fied?”.
He said, “Of course it is, and I love it. Now get in the car!”
Knowing my husband is making googly eyes at me makes me feel “Mom Sexy” for sure!

I listened to your advice last week and found my sexy self! My husband and I went out of town, kid free for 3 days. We went shopping and found not one but two “go to” sexy dresses, cute sexy shoes, new bras( ha after 5 kids who has time to try on) and even an evening clutch!!! A clutch, wow! I don’t remember carrying purse that wouldn’t fit a small child in it.
I strutted my stuff! All over Boston! And it felt great! I hope I don’t lose her again!

It reminds me of using the good dishes instead of saving them for days that may never come. Why not wear our best looking clothes more often. And I I say that I realize most days I work in the dirt in my garden.
