A Mom Sexy Blogoversary Celebration: Wanna Party With Me?

October 23rd will officially mark my one-year anniversary of the day I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to sit down in front of the computer and start a blog. I thought it would be funny. I thought it would give me something to do in between lego building and butt wiping. I thought maybe a few friends and maybe my family would read my posts and laugh a bit.

But I had NO idea that The Mommyologist would actually take off. I NEVER expected random people to read my blog, connect with me on a personal level, and become what I consider to be great friends in my life now. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Blogging is the best gig out there.”

In honor of my one-year anniversary, I think it’s only fitting that I throw a little Mom Sexy celebration. Because as much as I love to talk about rock-hard boobs after trying to quit breastfeeding cold turkey and discussing poop around the dinner table, my Mom Sexy revolution is my real mission with this blog.

Some days it is really next to impossible to feel sexy and beautiful as a mom (as I type this, I just told my son to quit playing with his wiener), but we still need to remember that we are hot mamas and that we are deserving of feeling like WOMEN.

And being sexy and beautiful does not mean being perfect. In fact, I think that our imperfections are what MAKE us MOM SEXY. Accepting the little quirks and flaws that make each and every one of us unique totally takes being confident and sexy to a whole new level.

The other night, I went back to Zumba after a good three-month long hiatus. The music began…I started to jump up and down and try and keep up with the routines…and then it happened.

I peed in my pants a little bit.

But I still finished the routine, and sprinted for the bathroom once the song was over.

I did my business, came back into the gym, looked at my girlfriend who was there with me that night and announced to her that I’d just pissed myself…because pissing yourself as a mom is freakin’ hysterical.

And after I told her that I wet my pants, I thought to myself, “I may have just peed my pants, but I’m still Mom Sexy!”

And that’s when it hit me. I’d been brainstorming ideas for a blogoversary event for days, and the idea finally came to me at Zumba, which is ironic, because I thought up my initial Mom Sexy concept at my very first Zumba class.

BLOGOVERSARY PARTY DETAILS

Please join me the week of October 18th – 22nd for a Mom Sexy Blogoversary Celebration, and let’s celebrate our imperfections together!

Because accepting our imperfections IS THE NEW SEXY. Perfect is for boring people.

Basically, I want you to finish one (or more) of the following sentences and write a post around it:

“I (did such and such), but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

“I may have (blankity blank), but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

“I’m not (blah blah blah), but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

Ok, you catch my drift. Here are a few other examples to get your creative juices flowing:

“The dimples on my ass make it look like a freakin’ golf ball, but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

“I will never ever be a size 2, but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

“I have post-natal hemorrhoids even though my son is 4 years old, but I’m still Mom Sexy.”

So…what do you think?? Who’s with me? If you want to play along, all you have to do is:

Grab My Mom Sexy button from my left sidebar, write your post, then come back over here to The Mommyologist and link up with me anytime Monday – Friday of the week of October 18th – 22nd.

I’m hoping that we can get a nice group of women to come to this shin-dig, and that we can all visit each other and remind ourselves of how MOM SEXY we all are.

Oh yeah, and one more thing…there will be a giveaway with this event as well. I am working out the details now, but there will be a goodie basket full of fun prizes. (Any companies who want in, feel free to email me at themommyologist(at)gmail(dot)com). All you have to do to enter is to write a post and link up. I will choose a winner on October 23rd, my blogoversary, using random.org.

I hope that each and every one of you will join me for some Mom Sexy action!

I would love it if you could help me spread the word about this party so that we can remind as many moms as possible of just how sexy they are.

Join @themommyologist for her Mom Sexy Blogoversary Party Oct. 18-22nd to remind yourself that you’re a sexy mom! http://su.pr/24Xafo Plz RT

I remember finding your blog last year, has it really been a year already? I remember seeing that blog on blogger….it was not nearly as cute as this one but the writing is what had me returning every single time. My favorite post from back in the day was about how moms have a code. (http://mommyologist.blogspot.com/2009/11/mom-code.html) I loved that one! Happy Blogiversary Mary – I’ll be joining your event for sure!

As a Zumba instructor and a mom of 2 I can officially say I have peed a little in class myself. I now go to the bathroom twice before class just to make sure I have emptied my bladder and I only take quick sips of water in class. Honestly, I sweat so badly, it always looks like I have peed even if I haven’t great contest!

We should start a “I pissed myself at Zumba club!” I too pissed myself at Zumba, but since I’m working out with a bunch of old ladies from the retirement home, at least I can shake it still!! There is nothing better than latin music, stripper moves, and a little tinkle amongst friends!
